How Userlike works
To load the Userlike chat widget to your site you’ll need to add a Javascript snippet to your site’s code. Basic settings, like which pages on your site show the widget, can be controlled in the Userlike admin settings. In order to show user attributes to your chat operators when they are on with a customer, custom code implementation is required. If you want to send livechat events to your analytics tool or data warehouse, more custom code is required. You’ll need to hook into Javascript events on the page for the Userlike API to get the data.
Get more out of Userlike with Segment
Segment will load the Userlike Javascript library in the background so you don’t have to add the snippet to your site. Any user traits you’re setting with the Segment identify
method will be passed through to Userlike without any additional code. The integration will collect a standard set of live chat events (Live Chat Started/Ended, Message Sent/Received) as they happen and send them back through Segment to be delivered to other Segment integrations.
