How comScore works
The comScore Application Tag is a code snippet designed to capture and report on usage measurements for applications on client devices. The Application Tag is available for popular platforms as an SDK. The SDK contains a software library that is written in the platform's native programming language as well as implementation instructions. In order to install comScore natively, you’ll need to develop familiarity with comScore’s native programming language and its SDK, then use that to install comScore code into your application.
Get more out of comScore with Segment
If you have Segment installed in your app, you don’t need to install a comScore SDK to use comScore. This is because your existing Segment implementation can be used to manage the client-side data collection that comScore needs. Getting started with comScore becomes very simple and only requires you to enter a few settings in your Segment integrations page.
When you enable comScore in your Segment settings, Segment’s content delivery network is updated within 5-10 minutes. Once that happens, Segment’s code in your application will know to load the appropriate web or mobile SDK from comScore into your application for you. This means there is no need to install any comScore code manually, and comScore will start automatically receiving data using your existing Segment data collection.
