How Elevio works
The Elevio embeddable, which is a widget that allows visitors to search for help content, is powered by a Javascript library that needs to be loaded on your site. The embeddable also allows you to live chat with users and restrict or augment the content they can find based on who they are. Those features require you to identify who the user is by sending user data to Elevio through its Javascript API. All customizations to the embeddable are handled in Elevio admin settings.

When you enable the Elevio integration in Segment, your custom embeddable will begin loading on your site right away, according to your settings, with no additional coding required on your part. The user traits
you’re recording to Segment will be passed through to the Elevio Javascript library to be used for content targeting or live chat. The special traits that Elevio expects (email, name, plan) are mapped according to its API spec with no additional mapping or development required.
