How Drip works
Each Drip account has its own JavaScript tracking snippet. This snippet is the direct link between your Drip account and your website. Features such as Drip’s opt-in form widgets, the “Visited a page” trigger found in automation, and making calls to Drip’s JavaScript API all depend on being able to communicate back to your JavaScript snippet. Drip recommends installing your JavaScript snippet even if you don’t think you will be requiring its functionality.
Get more out of Drip with Segment
There are two big advantages to using Segment to power your Drip implementation. First, Segment will load the Drip Javscript library in the background so you don’t have to paste the snippet on your website manually. Doing so means that Drip will be sent all your Segment events and user attributes to be used for triggered emails and customer segmentation, automatically. Second, Drip offers the option for Segment customers to send email events like Delivered, Opened, Clicked and others back through Segment and out to all your integrations and data warehouses, vastly enriching your customer data in the other tools you use it to grow your business.
