Chameleon
Web app onboarding
Enables local tour-building so teams can create, review, and publish customizable, in-app onboarding tours or trainings using custom CSS and JavaScript
Personalizes user segments so teams can group users based on properties or actions and deploy sequenced tours to customers based on product lifestyle stage or user interaction
Triggers tours reactively so teams can set tours to appear when users complete actions like loading a page, completing an action, or adding a product to a cart
Automates tracking when events like Previewed Tour or Converted Tour are triggered and provides data on starting URL, exiting URL, browser, location, and number of users who completed tour

How Chameleon works
A basic implementation of Chameleon only requires you to paste a Javascript snippet on the pages where you want to use the tool. The segmentation and customization features, however, will require custom code to identify your users and what they’re doing on your site. You or a developer will need to learn the Chameleon Javascript API, then grab the custom user data from your database and send it to the API. You’ll also need to write in code hooks for every important action people are taking, which will cost additional developer time for all the specialized event tracking code you’ll need to hook together with Chameleon.

Get more out of Chameleon with Segment
Using Segment’s integration with Chameleon to get going with the tool will save you many developer hours and time spent writing custom (and often redundant) event tracking code. With Segment you’ve already taken the time to plan and implement your most important user traits and actions. That data will be passed along to Chameleon automatically, with no additional coding required. All you need to do is enable the integration from your Segment dashboard and your events and traits will be mapped correctly. That way you can spend your time using Chameleon to optimize onboarding for users rather than settings things up just to get going.
