How BugHerd works
BugHerd needs data to function, and it facilitates the transfer of data by providing an API by which you can use to access their services. To implement BugHerd you will need to write code for each of your data collection events that sends data from your application to the BugHerd API endpoint. In order to conveniently access the methods provided by the BugHerd API, you will need to install a client library snippet (such as bugherd.js) into each location you want to track.
BugHerd has integrations with some other data providers as well, from Atatus to Zapier. However not all tools will have an integration with BugHerd, and in most cases installation will require modification of your code.
Get more out of BugHerd with Segment
By sending data to BugHerd via Segment, you don’t need to make any additions to your application code to start using BugHerd. Segment will automatically load bugherd.js onto your site for you. This means you won’t need to install or maintain BugHerd’s javascript library yourself. You don’t need to learn the details of the BugHerd API, and you save yourself the unnecessary effort of writing duplicative tracking code for something you’re already tracking.
