AutopilotHQ

How AutopilotHQ works

Autopilot is powered mostly by its Javascript library. The library needs to be installed throughout your site for Autopilot to work. Collecting email opt-ins and forms mostly works out of the box, but sending custom data requires you or a developer to learn and use various methods in the Autopilot Javascript library. Autopilot can pull data from your Salesforce and Twilio accounts automatically, but any other data sources you want to include will require custom coding to send data to the Autopilot API directly.

Get more out of AutopilotHQ with Segment

When you use Segment to load Autopilot on your site, your existing Segment events and user data automatically get passed along in the format Autopilot expects, and without any extra work from you. Many people use Segment to create more powerful Autopilot journeys. For example, you can use incoming Segment events as triggers in your journeys, or send events as Autopilot actions. Any actions you send from Autopilot back into Segment get propagated out to all your active Segment integrations and data warehouse. Another reason many Autopilot customers choose to use Segment is to tap into the wide range of data sources Segment offers so that even more customer data is available to create journeys. Those sources include developer libraries like Python and Ruby, mobile SDKs for iOS and Android, or streaming sources from NPS tools, other email tools, or enrichment tools like Clearbit and Madkudu.
