How Engage Messaging Works
Engage works by capturing customer traits and actions within your application. This means the Javascript SDK needs to be installed, or the API is integrated to capture this data within your application. Once this is done and data is being synced to Engage, it is then possible to create customer segments based on the data and send messages, either directly or automatically, to these segments.

Segment makes it easier to get started with Engage in no time. This means no need of figuring out where to track customer data, what data to track and how to do it. Once Engage is connected as a destination, Segment automatically sends customer traits from `identify` and customer events from `track` to Engage.
